Assesment

The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance with Foundation Year is designed to provide a high-level professional launchpad, fully accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). As the world’s largest global professional accountancy body, the ACCA has strategically aligned our curriculum with the first two stages of its professional qualification. This alignment means that by completing the required modules, you can become eligible for up to nine ACCA exemptions, significantly accelerating your career path and potentially allowing you to reach fully qualified status within just two years of graduation.

In addition to its focus on chartered accountancy, the program meets the rigorous standards of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). This dual focus ensures you are well-equipped to pursue a management accounting pathway, with graduates often eligible for further professional exemptions assessed directly by CIMA. Furthermore, this degree serves as a recognized entry criterion for the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, granting you immediate eligibility to apply for this global designation as soon as you complete your studies.

To ensure you graduate with practical, boardroom-ready skills, we have partnered with Moody’s to give you direct access to a wealth of real-time financial data. By integrating this industry-standard data with advanced statistical software, you will have the opportunity to make evidence-based financial decisions within a live market context. This bridge between academic theory and technical fluency ensures you enter the modern financial landscape with the professional recognition and hands-on experience required to excel from day one.

Entry Requirements

To join this programme, you must meet our academic or professional entry criteria designed to ensure you are ready for degree-level study. Standard applicants should typically hold a Level 3 qualification with a minimum of 45 credits completed within the last three years (or an equivalent qualification). However, we highly value professional expertise and will also consider applicants who do not meet these specific academic requirements if they can demonstrate at least 12 months of relevant work experience. In these cases, you will simply need to provide a current CV and a professional reference to evidence your background and suitability for the course.

As part of the admissions process, you will be required to demonstrate your readiness for the programme, either by attending an interview or submitting a personal statement of between 350 and 550 words. This statement is your opportunity to showcase your motivation for undertaking the degree, explain why you have chosen this specific course, and outline your long-term career aspirations. While this version of the programme includes an integrated foundation year for extra support, we also offer a standard three-year bachelor’s degree for those who already meet the direct entry requirements; further details for that route can be found by clicking the link provided on our course page.
