Assesment

The assessment strategy for the BSc (Hons) Computing program is specifically designed to prepare you for the technical and strategic demands of computing management. Rather than relying on traditional exams, the course offers a variety of ways to demonstrate your expertise, ensuring you develop a full range of industry-relevant skills. Assessment methods include academic essays and detailed reports, as well as practical tasks like real-life simulations, major projects, and professional presentations. You will also participate in group debates, which are essential for developing the collaborative and communication skills required in modern IT leadership roles.

This independent learning is a cornerstone of your academic success, and your lecturers will provide consistent, structured guidance throughout the study period to help you manage your time and master complex technical concepts.

To ensure your qualification remains at the cutting edge of the technology sector, all assessment methods at Learn Quest Education undergo an annual review. These updates are informed by direct student feedback, the latest developments in computing, and the oversight of an External Examiner. As an independent academic expert from another Higher Education Institution, the External Examiner acts as a vital safeguard, ensuring that the academic standards of your course are rigorous, fair, and held to the highest national benchmarks.

Entry Requirements

To join our BSc (Hons) Computing with Foundation Year, you must meet our academic or professional entry criteria designed to ensure you are ready for a career in the technology sector. Standard applicants should typically hold a Level 3 qualification with a minimum of 45 credits completed within the last three years (or an equivalent qualification). However, we highly value industry expertise and will also consider applicants who do not meet these specific academic requirements if they can demonstrate at least 12 months of professional work experience. In these cases, you will simply need to provide a current CV and a professional reference to evidence your background and suitability for the course.

As part of the admissions process, you will be required to submit a personal statement of between 350 and 550 words that outlines your readiness for the programme. This statement is your opportunity to showcase your motivation for entering the computing field, explain why you have chosen this specific course, and detail your long-term career aspirations. Depending on your application, you may also be invited to attend an academic interview to further demonstrate your ability to study successfully. While this version of the programme includes an integrated foundation year to build your core technical skills, we also offer a standard three-year bachelor’s degree for those who already meet the direct entry requirements; further details for that route can be found by clicking the link provided on our course page.
