What Is a CertHE?

A Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) is a Level 4 qualification in the UK, equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. It is typically completed in one year of full-time study and is designed to:

• Introduce students to university-level education

• Build confidence in academic writing and critical thinking

• Provide a recognised standalone qualification

• Offer progression to the second year of a related honours degree
